Manually configure your email account on Outlook 2016
For Email's on Blacknight shared hosting.
1) With Outlook 2016 open - >> File >> Info >> Add Account
(See Screenshot Below)
2) Select "Manual setup or aditional server types" and then Press "Next >"

3) Choose "POP or IMAP" and then Press "Next >"

4) Enter the following - (See Screenshot Below)
User information -
Enter your name and the email address
Server information -
In the Account Type list, choose POP3 or IMAP.
In the Incoming mail server box, type mail.blacknight.com
In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) box, type mail.blacknight.com
Logon information -
In the User Name box, type your full email address.
In the Password box, type the password that you created for that email address.
Select the Remember password check box.
NOTE You have the option to save your password by typing it in the Password box and selecting the Remember password checkbox. If you choose this option, you don't have to type your password every time that you access the account. However, this also makes the account vulnerable to anyone who has access to your computer.
TIP Your password might be case-sensitive. Make sure that the CAPS LOCK key isn't on when you enter your password.
5) Once the above information has been entered -
Click on "More Settings"
Click on "Outgoing Server" tab
Ensure "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" is ticked as per the Screenshot below.
Press "OK"
Press "Next" to confirm and save the settings.
By default, the Test Account Settings by clicking the Next button checkbox is selected. This option verifies that your account is working. If there is missing or incorrect information, such as your password, you are prompted to supply it or correct it.
In Advanced, ensure that the incoming port is set to 143. And the outgoing port to 587.
Unsure of the email password?
>> Login Cp.blacknight.com
>> Email >> Click on the Display Name >> Change Password
When changing your password you have two options:
- You can generate one and save that, it will be displayed on screen when you press the 'Generate Password' button - you will need to take this down.
- Or you can put in your own, in which case you do not press 'Generate Password'.
