If you are using an external router for Blacknight Broadband, for the majority of our broadband connections the details below will assist you in making the connection.
It is important to note that your router must be able to:
- Create a PPPoE session.
- Set the MTU value on the internet connection.
- Set a VLAN on the internet connection.
Most routers can make a connection like this, however, note that some budget oriented routers may not be able to set a VLAN on the internet connection.
The details for the connection are as follows:
-
Connection
- Type: PPPoE
- IP Assignment: Dynamic
- MTU: 1492
- VLAN: 10
-
Credentials
-
Username:
broadband@bk.network -
Password:
broadband
-
Username:
Note that you should only use the Username/Password above if that is correct for your connection; you might a unique combination for your connection.
Once the details are set this way the connection should come up automatically after a configuration change or reboot of the hardware.
If the connection does not come up, please check the settings are correct and then:
- Power off the ONT -- the box on the wall for the connection.
- Power off the Router.
- Leave both off for about 2-3 minutes.
- Then, power on the ONT only and allow a few minutes for it to settle.
- Then, power on the router and allow it a few minutes to settle.
If there is still an issue please contact us so we can check the connection.
Note:
Some customers may have a specific username/password combination that would have been supplied at the time of the connection. If you no longer have these credentials - or are not sure if you do have specific login credentials for your connection, please contact us so we can confirm the same.
