VM for Virtual Machine
VPS stands for Virtual Private Server
They basically mean the same thing and the two terms may be used interchangeably. Generally however if a knowledgebase article mentions VM it typically means our older Cloud VM plans (available from November 2011 to 2023) and VPS would mean our newer cp.blacknighthosting.com based plans (available from November 2023).
