Changing PHP version

The following PHP versions are available:

Legacy shared hosting plans only:

PHP 5.3.28
PHP 5.4
PHP 5.5
PHP 5.6
PHP 7.0
PHP 7.1
PHP 7.2

All of our shared hosting plans:
PHP 7.3
PHP 7.4
PHP 8.0
PHP 8.1

 (Minor versions eg. 7.1.xx will differ from server to server)

*PHP Versions 7.3 onwards are the only versions available on our newer plans.  Older PHP versions are not available on Mega, Giga, Tera, or Wordpress plans.

On newer plans managed through https://cp.blacknighthosting.com you can change the PHP version under:

Plesk plans: Services > Plesk plan > Plesk > PHP Settings

cPanel plans: Services > cPanel plan > cPanel > MultiPHP Manager

On older plans (pre-2022) managed through https://cp.blacknight.com you can change the PHP version under:

Websites → domainname → Website Configuration → Edit
