You can enable access to a MySQL database hosted under our shared hosting plans from specific hosts.
To do this you first need to setup the database to be able to accept requests from a particular host. This is done in your control panel (at: http://cp.blacknight.com) under:
Home >> Databases >> Database name
Once you've clicked on the database name you should see a field for "Access from external hosts". If this is enabled we can continue (and skip the next step), if not see below on how to enable this.
To enable the "Access from external hosts" click the "edit" button that is located under: "Web Hosting >> Databases >> Database name" and then ensure that the "Access from external hosts" option is ticked. Click "Submit" to save this.
When the "Access from external hosts" option is enabled you will see a new tab called "Access Hosts" near the top of the database page. Click on this to bring up a list of allowed hosts for this particular database.
You can add in a new host using the "Add new access host" button. In here you enter in the IP address of the host that you would like to be able to connect to the MySQL database and click "Submit" to save this.
