Adding Shopify DNS Records.

The following covers how to set up a DNS records for Shopify on the newer Blacknight Control Panel at cp.blacknighthosting.com - For the older Blacknight Control Panel at cp.blacknight.com, please scroll down.

PLEASE NOTE: The IP addresses listed here are correct at the time of writing and may change without notice.
Please check with Shopify for the correct IP Addresses.

New Blacknight Control Panel (cp.blacknighthosting.com)

1. Log into cp.blacknighthosting.com
2. Click Domains on the left side and choose Manage DNS Records
3. Find the domain in question and click the pencil icon on the right
4. If there is a DNS Record with the following details here, click the delete button on the right-hand side:
   • Name: @
   • Type: A
   • TTL: 3600
   • RData: 123.456.789.012 (This will be different for everyone)
5. And a second:
   • Name: www
   • Type: A (This may be a CNAME)
   • TTL: 3600
   • RData: 123.456.789.012 (This will be different for everyone)
6. Click Add Record and enter the following information:
   • Type: CNAME
   • Name: www
   • TTL: 3600 (This should already be here)
   • Cname: shops.myshopify.com
   • Press confirm!
7. Click Add Record again and enter the following information
   • Type: A
   • Name: @
   • TTL: 3600 (This should already be here)
   • Address: 23.227.38.65
   • Press confirm!
8. Once completed, it should look like this:
9. And this is complete! It may take 1–3 hours for Shopify to detect that the records have been added.

Old Blacknight Control Panel (cp.blacknight.com)

1. Log into cp.blacknight.com
2. Click on Home at the top of the screen
3. Click on Hosted Domains
4. Click on the domain in question
5. Click on the Web tab at the top. (If you do not have a Web tab, skip to Step 7)
6. Click on Remove Hosting and then click OK
7. Click on the DNS tab
8. Click on DNS Records
9. Click Add New DNS Record
   • Choose CNAME from the dropdown menu
   • in the Domain field input: www
   • In the Canonical Name field input: shops.myshopify.com. (the full stop at the end is important)
   • Click Finish

• • Click Add New DNS Record
  • Choose A from the dropdown menu
  • in the Domain field leave it empty and in the IP Address field input: 23.227.38.65
  • Click Finish
