Creating a CNAME record for SSL Validation

Domains using cp.blacknighthosting.com and ns1-4.blacknightdns.com nameservers

Log in to  https://cp.blacknighthosting.com and go to:

Domains > Manage DNS > Click the Edit Zone icon (page with a pen) to the right of the domain in question

1. click Add Record
2. Put the _123456abc part of the CNAME in the NAME field
3. Pick CNAME from the Type drop down
4. Put the 12346789abcdef.sectigo.com part in to the RDATA field
5. Press Add Record (you don't need to change the TTL)
6. Click Save Changes to submit your changes

Older domains using cp.blacknight.com and ns1-4.blacknight.com nameservers

Log in to https://cp.blacknight.com and go to:

Home > Hosted Domains > domainname > DNS > DNS Records

1. click Add New DNS Record
2. Pick CNAME from the DNS Record Type drop down
3. Put the _123456abc part of the CNAME in the DOMAIN field
4. Put the 12346789abcdef.sectigo.com. part in to the Canonical name field (with a . at the end)
5. Press Finish (you don't need to change the TTL)
