This guide will show you how to manually backup your websites files using Blacknight's Site Backup Facility.
Note: Webspaces are backed up automatically at 2am every night.
This applies only to websites hosted on our Minimus, Medius, or Maximus plans - on the https://cp.blacknight.com platform.
If you have multiple Hosting Subscriptions, you would need to select the correct subscription first and note it's number from the top-right corner of the Blacknight Control Panel: (http://cp.blacknight.com)
Locate the Webspace ID for your website by going to "Websites" from the top of the Blacknight Control Panel:
Go to your Site Backup subscription (Choose the Subscription from the top right of the page)
- Select the "Site Builder" from the Navigation Bar.
- Choose to "Login to Site Backup"
When you login, you will be presented with the list of Websites and Databases.
- Note the Webspace ID and the Subscription ID from before:
If you wish to take a manual backup of your site outside of the automated hours, you can click on the lightning bolt "⚡" button to the right of the entry for the Webspace / Subscription ID
You will be asked to confirm the action. Choose "Yes"
After a minute or two, the webspace is now backed up.
If you wish, you can choose if you want to download the files to your local computer:
Use the tree view on the left to select the folder(s) that you wish to mark for downloading.
You can also choose to select one file from the folder structure on the right.
Click the Green Cloud icon from the top of the page to download the selected files:
When you click the download button, you will be asked to input a name for the archive, plus a list of files that you are about to upload. Click "Create"
Your website files will now begin to download to your local computer.
