The following applies to anyone who uses https://gmail.com to receive emails from their Titan email accounts.
What is happening?
Beginning in early 2026, Gmail will no longer provide support to check emails from other accounts via POP within Gmail.com.
For newer Gmail accounts, this will switched off within the first quarter of 2026. Existing users can still use it until it is switched off later this year.
This means that if you are currently receiving your emails for your business via Gmail, this will stop working.
For more information about these changes, please see here: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/16604719
How can I check if I am using Gmail to receive emails from Titan email?
You can verify if your emails are coming in via Gmail by going to the following within Gmail:
- Settings (Cog icon on the top right) >> See all Settings
- Click the Accounts and Import tab
- In the Check mail from other accounts: section, if your email address is listed here as info@example.com (POP3), then this will eventually cease functioning.
What can I use once it has been switched off?
You can continue to use your email account via the Titan webmail at
https://app.titan.email
Or, If you wish, you can set up the email account within Outlook, Thunderbird or various other email clients.
Please see our guides on how you can set up Titan within email clients here: https://help.blacknight.com/hc/en-us/sections/4413760287889-Titan-Shared-Hosting-email
NOTE: By default, Leave a copy of retrieved messages on the server is not checked, meaning that the historical emails will not be available on Titan's webmail and would solely be on Gmail. To change this, go into:
- Settings (Cog icon on the top right) >> See all Settings
- Click the Accounts and Import tab
- In the Check mail from other accounts: section and click Edit info beside the email address
- Check the box for "Leave a copy of retrieved messages on the server"
- NOTE: This will only apply for new emails.
Will I lose emails that have already been imported?
No. Existing emails will not be lost nor removed. Down the line, no new emails will be imported.
I have recently updated my POP3 settings from mail.blacknight.com or pop33r.cp.blacknight.com to pop0101.titan.email, am I affected?
Yes, everyone who recently changed over to the new Titan email server settings within Gmail is affected, and new emails will stop coming into Gmail starting in early 2026.
This is not a decision that has been made by Blacknight nor Titan. This decision has been made by Google. Please see their notice for more information: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/16604719
