There are various reasons why it is not advised to use the Gmail interface to collect and send your email for an external email domain/mailbox. Aside from us not being able to assist you with setup via the Gmail interface or otherwise troubleshoot issues when using it, the two items below may also be a hindrance in using that interface with your external email.
We must stress the use of Titan Webmail or Apps (even IMAP in an email client) over using Gmail to collect the email from the external mailbox as Gmail cannot collect via IMAP (only POP).
Important Note About Titan Spam Folder
It should be noted that you will not be able to see or retrieve any email from the Titan email "Spam" folder that resides on the server when using the Gmail interface.
That is because that folder can only be accessed via Titan Webmail or Titan Apps (or via IMAP once subscribed to) and because the Gmail interface only pulls down email only from the Inbox folder [via a POP connection] on the mailbox --- no other folders.
Emails that arrive to the "Spam" folder or are put in other folders - via Webmail/Apps/IMAP, will not be seen in Gmail.
Important Note On Polling Times Via Gmail
The Gmail interface/system polls the source mailbox for new email at varying intervals, those of which are changed based on how often the system finds and retrieves new email from the source mailbox.
The minimum polling time is five minutes - for higher traffic mailboxes, and the maximum polling time is one hour - for lower traffic mailboxes, and as a result of this you may experience delays in collecting your email from the mailbox at our-side. It should be noted there is no way to change this behaviour as it is automated at the Gmail side and we have no control over the same.
If you require access to your incoming email sooner than the polling mechanism can collect them, you would have to use the Webmail interface on our system or otherwise setup the mailbox in an email client on a computer etc..
Please see the Titan knowledgebase for more in-depth instructions for how to set up your new email account in gmail:
