There are a number of steps that have to be followed, and completed in full, before you can use your Office 365 subscription: as this is the case, it may not be possible to use the subscription immediately after it is active in your account.
Please email help@blacknight.com with your domain name and client ID if you want extra help getting your 365 account set up. This can take a couple of days depending on workload. If you would like to attempt this yourself in the meantime then please follow this guide.
This guide only applies to Microsoft Office 365 plans purchased after 2022, on our cp.blacknighthosting.com platform.
Microsoft Customer Agreement Acknowledgement
As part of the setup process, new customers must accept the "Microsoft Customer Agreement" in order to be able to use the Microsoft/Office 365 service.
This is present to you after the order process is completed on the system but before subscriptions will activate on the Microsoft Tenancy side.
To complete this agreement follow these steps:
- Login to your Blacknight Control Panel account via https://cp.blacknighthosting.com/
- On the menu on the left, click "Services".
- Then on the submenu, click "My Services".
- Click into a "Microsoft 365" service on the right.
- Then, on the list of links that show up to the right of the main menu (black area), click "Microsoft Agreement".
- A new page will show, the agreement will load; review the content and accept the agreement when ready.
You can then proceed to the next step.
Obtain Password For Global Admin User
The first time that you log into https://cp.blacknighthosting.com, you will need to generate a new password for the Global Administrator.
1. Click on 'Services'
2 . Click on Microsoft 365 Business Monthly (or Yearly)
3. Click on Users to get the Global Administrator username:
* The Global Administrator username would be in format admin@<tenant-id>.onmicrosoft.com
4. Click on Change Password (as per the screenshot above) to generate the password.
(We recommend leaving this as 12 characters and generating the password to increase security)
5. Now you can log into the Microsoft 365 Portal by going to https://portal.office.com or by clicking the Office 365 link in the control panel.
